Cherry Slushie

A cherry slushie is a frozen beverage made by blending ripe cherries with ice and sweetener, resulting in a vibrant, icy drink with a smooth, slushy texture. The main ingredients include fresh cherries, sugar or honey, and ice, which combine to create a tart and sweet flavor with a bright red appearance. The final product is served chilled, with a thick, granular texture perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted ripe cherries fresh or frozen
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes preferably crushed or small

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Add the pitted cherries, sugar or honey, and ice cubes into the blender.
  2. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and icy, about 30-45 seconds. You should see a consistent, slushy texture with no large chunks.
  3. Stop the blender and check the texture; if it’s too thick, add a splash of water or juice and blend briefly to loosen.
  4. Pour the chilled cherry slushie into glasses, allowing the vibrant red color and icy texture to shine through.
  5. Garnish with a fresh cherry or a mint sprig if desired for added visual appeal.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing burst of tart sweetness on a hot day.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a splash of lemon juice or a dash of vanilla extract before blending.
