Crispy Air Fryer Salmon Bites

These salmon bites are coated in crunchy panko breadcrumbs and cooked in the air fryer until golden and crispy, with a tender interior. The process involves breading the fish with an egg wash and seasoned crumbs, then crisping them up with a quick air fry. The result is a satisfying, crackly snack or main dish with a bright lemon zest aroma.

Equipment

  • Air fryer

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). While it heats, set up your breading station with a shallow dish of beaten egg and a plate of panko breadcrumbs mixed with lemon zest, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Gently dip each piece of salmon into the egg wash, ensuring it's coated evenly.
  3. Next, roll the salmon in the seasoned panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly so the crumbs adhere well and form an even coating.
  4. Place the breaded salmon bites on a plate or tray, then lightly spray them with neutral oil to encourage crisping.
  5. Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece for air circulation.
  6. Cook in the air fryer for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the crust is golden and crispy, and the salmon is cooked through.
  7. Once done, carefully remove the salmon bites from the air fryer and serve immediately for maximum crunch and flavor.
