  • 4 fillets salmon fillets preferably skin-on
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil light spray or brush
  • 1 teaspoon paprika smoked preferred
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly cracked
  • 1 lemon lemon wedges for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and line the basket with parchment or lightly spray with oil.
  2. Place the Parmesan cheese in a shallow bowl or resealable bag. In a separate small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Lightly spray or brush them with olive oil on all sides.
  4. Dip each fillet into the Parmesan cheese, pressing gently to coat all sides evenly. Then, shake or toss in the spice mixture to add an extra layer of flavor.
  5. Place the coated fillets into the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren’t crowded so the air can circulate and crisp the crust.
  6. Cook in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes, until the crust is golden and crispy, and the salmon feels firm but still moist inside.
  7. Carefully remove the fillets using tongs, avoiding breaking the crust, and transfer to a plate.
  8. Squeeze fresh lemon over the fillets and sprinkle with chopped herbs if using. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra crispiness, spray the crust lightly with oil halfway through cooking and check frequently to avoid burning. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes until crisp again.
