Ingredients

  • 8 pieces slider buns soft, slightly sweet
  • 1 lb thinly sliced ham honey-glazed preferred
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted, for brushing

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small saucepan
  • Pastry brush
  • Knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the top connected if possible for easy assembly.
  3. Lay the bottom buns flat on the prepared baking sheet, ready to be layered.
  4. Mix the honey and Dijon mustard in a small saucepan over medium heat until smooth and slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes, releasing a sweet and tangy aroma.
  5. Spread a generous layer of the honey mustard glaze on the cut side of the bottom buns, focusing on the surface to create a flavorful base.
  6. Layer the thin slices of ham evenly over the glazed buns, covering the surface completely.
  7. Brush the top side of the buns with melted butter to add shine and help them brown nicely during baking.
  8. Cover the ham with the top buns, pressing down gently to help the flavors meld and the glaze seep into the bread.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the buns are golden and the glaze is bubbling and caramelized around the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes to allow the glaze to set, then brush with any remaining glaze for extra shine.
  11. Slice into individual sliders if not already separated, and serve warm for a sweet, tangy, and savory treat.
