  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice strained to remove seeds
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest finely grated
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 cups ice cubes crushed or whole
  • 1/2 cup cold water

Method
 

  1. Add the fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar, ice cubes, and cold water into a blender.
  2. Secure the lid tightly and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and frosty, about 30-40 seconds.
  3. Check the consistency; it should be thick and slushy with a vibrant yellow color.
  4. Taste the slushie and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar and blending briefly again.
  5. Pour the lemonade slushie into chilled glasses, ensuring an even, icy layer at the top.
  6. Serve immediately with a lemon slice or a sprig of mint for garnish if desired.

Notes

For an extra zest, add a few drops of lemon extract or a twist of lemon peel on top.
