Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rum preferably chilled
  • 1 cup fruit puree (mango, pineapple, or papaya) fresh or thawed frozen
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger or allspice optional for spice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 cup crushed ice or ice cubes

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out all ingredients and prepare your fruit puree if making from fresh fruits.
  2. Add the chilled rum, fruit puree, spices, sweetener, and crushed ice into your blender.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, frosty, and slightly slushy, about 30-45 seconds.
  4. Check the consistency; if it’s too thick, add a splash of water or more fruit puree and blend briefly to combine.
  5. Pour the slushie mixture into chilled glasses, allowing some foam or ice crystals to top the surface.
  6. Garnish with a slice of exotic fruit or a sprig of mint for a festive touch.

Notes

For an extra tropical flair, rim glasses with sugar or shredded coconut before pouring.
