Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups ice cubes
  • 3 oz whiskey your choice of brand or type
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup or more to taste
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice freshly squeezed preferred

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Place the ice cubes into the blender, filling it about halfway.
  2. Add the whiskey, simple syrup, and lemon juice to the blender over the ice.
  3. Secure the lid tightly and begin blending on low speed to break up the ice.
  4. Gradually increase the speed to high and blend until the mixture is smooth and slushie-like, about 30-45 seconds.
  5. Stop the blender and check the texture—it should be icy but slightly creamy, with no large ice chunks remaining.
  6. Pour the whiskey slushie into chilled glasses and garnish with a lemon twist or a small sprig of mint if desired.

Notes

Adjust the level of sweetness and tartness by adding more syrup or lemon juice as desired. Serve immediately for best icy texture.
